GeFe is a resale marketplace, which means every listing comes from an independent seller rather than GeFe itself. Trust between buyers and sellers is what makes that work, so here is exactly what we do to protect both sides of a transaction.
Sellers listed under Sellers have gone through identity and business verification before their storefront becomes public. That means confirming a valid NIN and registered CAC business details for every vendor account — sellers who have not completed this process do not appear in the verified vendor directory.
Independent sellers under Stores are community sellers who have not gone through the same business verification. Their storefronts and ratings are visible so you can judge track record before buying, but treat unverified stores with the same care you would use on any peer-to-peer marketplace.
When you pay for an order, funds are held in escrow rather than sent straight to the seller. The seller is only paid out after you confirm the item has arrived and matches the listing. If something goes wrong before you confirm, the funds are still in escrow and can be addressed through support instead of already being gone.
Sellers are expected to describe condition accurately, use their own photos, and disclose damage, repairs or missing parts. Items that are counterfeit, unauthorized replicas, or misrepresented in condition or authenticity are not allowed on GeFe.

If a listing looks fake, a seller is behaving suspiciously, or an order has gone wrong, contact our support team directly at support@gefeafrica.com. Include the listing link or order reference so we can look into it quickly.
